"Saving one dog will not change the world, but surely for that one dog, the world will change forever."
- Karen Davison

Our Compassionate Mission

Rock Bottom Rescue's mission is to give second chances to stray dogs who never had a first.

We rescue, rehabilitate and rehome dogs that are abandoned, malnourished and/or abused. Dogs who all they want is a forever home, to love and to be loved. There are so many dogs out their who have been mistreated and hurt, but have still not lost their will to love and to trust humans.

In developing regions, there are little to no animal welfare laws or protection for animals, let alone spay and neuter programs to control the exponentially expanding population.  Dogs are left to fend for themselves on the streets, with nearly all having intestinal parasites affecting their absorption of food and leaving them malnourished, hungry and starving even if there are able to find scraps/garbage to eat.

Our goal is to rehabilitate and home a minimum of 50 dogs by 2030. Although we cannot change their past, we strive to give them a brighter future, and a second chance.

Rock Bottom dogs are those who are starved, or abused, and in the worst condition. We bring dogs from developing regions to the U.S. mainland to give then a more hopeful and enjoyable future, with happy forever families that will give them the loving life they deserve.

Rock Bottom Rescue was founded in April 2025 and is a registered Public Charity (State of Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection #: CHR.0069206-EXEMPT). It is currently pending 501(c)3 approval.

Saving one dog won't change the world, but for that one dog the world will be forever changed.

Our Inspiration

Milo from Puerto Rico

When we went to Puerto Rico in April of 2025, we met Milo. He had been used in dog fighting as a bait dog. My family and I fell in love and were determined to get Milo a better life. He was so sweet and kind, even despite his past. We knew that Milo deserved so much more. He found us at a waterfall in West - Central Puerto Rico.

We realized that all street dogs should get a second chance. He inspired us, along with so many amazing people along our journey, to start Rock Bottom Rescue.

About Me

I'm Claire, and I am 13 years old. I have always loved animals, and my room is filled with doves, quail, chicks, cats and dogs. I love to learn and try new things. I am in 7th grade, and go to Scotts Ridge Middle School. I have started Rock Bottom Rescue because all animals deserve a chance to have a family and be loved. Whenever my family and I went to developing countries, I alway wished we could help the dogs on the streets whose ribs showed, but were still trusting to humans. So I found a way to help them.
